Const. Ken MacDonald said police arrested the man, 31, on Thursday after searching a home on James Street.

"As a result of the search warrant conducted by the Internet Child Exploitation Unit, two laptops and several computer components were seized as well as a bunch of CDs and as a result there were charges laid with possession of child pornography at the scene."

The man has been released and is scheduled to appear in court in June.

A two-month investigation took place before his arrest.
