Chester Basin woman was killed, say RCMP
57-year-old was found dead Friday morning
RCMP say a woman found dead in Chester Basin, N.S., on Friday was killed.
Police were called to a sudden death at 9 a.m. AT Friday and found the deceased 57-year-old woman.
On Sunday, police said they are treating the death as a homicide. The woman's body is being taken to Halifax for an autopsy.
"The RCMP are asking anyone who noticed any suspicious or unusual activity on Borgels Point Road or in the Chester Basin area during the afternoon or evening of Thursday, March 1, to contact the RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit at (902) 275-2692," said Const. Dal Hutchinson.
The woman's name has not been released. The name Buckley appeared on the mailbox, but according to online property records, the home has been owned by Victoria Brauns since 1989.
