Cape Breton Police catch armed robbery suspect

A man considered by police to be a serious threat to the public was arrested Saturday morning.

A man considered by police to be a serious threat to the public was arrested Saturday morning.

Morgan James MacNeil, 21, was wanted in connection with two armed robberies.

Cape Breton Regional Police found MacNeil in an apartment building in Sydney around 5 a.m. after receiving a tip.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest after a robbery at the CIBC in Sydney River Wednesday.

He's also accused of robbing the A & P Jewelry Store in Sydney Friday afternoon.

Chief Peter McIsaac said 35 officers in several investigative units have been working on the case around the clock.
