Halifax police say two people found early Friday died in a murder-suicide.

Police were called to 216 Caledonia Road in Dartmouth, N.S., just after midnight on a well-being check. They found the bodies of Bahrija Hadzic, a 53-year-old woman, and Sejad Hadzic, a 54-year-old man.

The two were married.

"Based on the investigation and after completion of the autopsy by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service, officers have determined this was a murder-suicide that occurred late last night," Staff Sgt. Julia Cecchetto said in a news release.

"It is believed Mr. Hadzic took the life of Ms. Hadzic before he took his own. Our thoughts are with their families and friends at this difficult time."

Police aren't looking for anyone else.
