The body of a man reported missing last Thursday was found in Halifax Sunday, police said.

John Donald MacInnis, 73, had gone missing after being last seen at his Fairview home Thursday morning.

His body was found at about 10 a.m. Sunday by searchers behind John Ross & Sons Ltd — a recycling depot in Bayers Lake Industrial Park, on Chain Lake Drive.

MacInnis suffered from dementia and police believe may have become disoriented and wandered to the park — about six kilometres away.

Searchers from 10 different teams from around the province searched for four days for MacInnis.

It's not believed foul play was involved.
