Attempted murder charges in Timberlea shooting
Halifax police have charged a man with three counts of attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Timberlea Saturday.
Three males aged 17, 18 and 19 were arrested just after police received reports of gunfire on Forest Glen Drive after 10 a.m.. Officers found a car with a bullet hole in it.
A fourth man, 18-year-old Daniel Simon Day, was arrested later that day. He remains in custody and will appear in court Monday. Police say he will be charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault with a weapon, and other charges.
The other teenagers were released, but will face charges in court appearances next month. The charges include:
- a 19-year-old Halifax man will be appearing in Halifax Provincial Court on July 25 on charges of mischief and possession of a weapon of a dangerous purpose.
- an 18-year-old Timberlea man will be appearing in Halifax Provincial Court on July 31 on a charge of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
- a 17-year-old Sackville male will be appearing in Youth Court on July 9 on charges of possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
