Attempted murder charges in Spryfield stabbing

Three people are facing charges after a 19-year-old man was stabbed in Spryfield on Tuesday.

Three people are facing charges after a 19-year-old man was stabbed in Spryfield on Tuesday.

Halifax Regional Police said Wednesday the charges include attempted murder and aggravated assault.

The 19-year-old was found on Lavender Walk just before 4:30 a.m., but police believe he was stabbed at a home on nearby Orange Walk.

Police said the victim's injuries were not life-threatening.

Three suspects were arrested separately Tuesday morning.

Asha Ali of Dartmouth, 36, faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Dhari Salman Shalaan of Halifax, 19, faces charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, administering a noxious thing, as well as weapons charges.

A 17-year-old boy from Dartmouth faces charges of attempted murder and several relating to weapons.
