Amy's Kitchen recalls various products over listeria concerns
Amy's Kitchen voluntarily recalling more than 73,000 cases of product
One of Canada's leading "natural" frozen food manufacturers is recalling more than 73,000 cases of product over concerns that organic spinach used may pose a listeria risk.
Amy's Kitchen has voluntarily recalled a number of products distributed across the U.S. and Canada.
Consuming listeria can lead to the illness listeriosis, which can cause a high fever, severe headache, a stiff neck and nausea. Listeriosis can also lead to premature delivery or miscarriage in pregnant women and can be a serious illness for those with weakened immune systems.
There have been no illnesses reported.
The following products are affected by the recall:
Note: Amy's brand has issued a correction to its original recall to correctly identify the best before dates on three recalled products:
- Amy's Vegetable Lasagna, 269 grams, UPC #042272900329, with a best before date of January 2017.
- Amy's Gluten Free Tofu Scramble Breakfast Wrap, 156 grams, UPC #042272908073, with a best before date of February 2017.
- Amy's Gluten Free Dairy Free Vegetable Lasagna, 255 grams, UPC #042272908141, with a best before date of February 2017.
