Aggravated assault charge in Dartmouth stabbing

A 19-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault after another teenager was stabbed over the weekend in Dartmouth.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault after another teenager was stabbed over the weekend in Dartmouth.

Halifax Regional Police said the accused turned himself in Wednesday afternoon and was charged as a result. He is expected to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Thursday.

At 10:43 p.m. on Saturday, Halifax Regional Police were called to 269 Wyse Rd. after a report of a stabbing.

The victim was stabbed numerous times in the torso after a confrontation with two men and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from hospital.

Halifax Regional Police said they are still looking for a second man believed to have been involved in the incident.
