Accident closes highway lane near Halifax airport
Nova Scotia RCMP closed off one lane of Highway 102 just north of the Halifax Stanfield International Airport after a two-vehicle crash between exits 6 and 7.
The front end of a car was crushed and a transport truck is currently parked at the side of the road.
Cpl. Scott McCrae said there were no injuries.
He said Friday night's rain coupled with Saturday's freezing temperatures had caused more than one crash.
"This has all made our highways extremely slippery this morning, which has resulted in several accidents including a couple of rollovers and I'm glad to report that there haven't been any serious injuries. So if you're out there driving today, please slow down, watch the road conditions and take your time so you can get to your destination safely."
McCrae said he expects Saturday's slippery conditions will persist well into the night.
