5 arrested in Membertou drug bust

Cape Breton Regional Police made a major drug bust Friday night, arresting five men in Membertou.

Police used warrants to search several locations in the community, and they found large amounts of drugs and cash.

Among the drugs were cocaine, ecstasy, oxycodone, and marijuana.

The five men arrested include an 18-year-old and 24-year-old from Dartmouth, and three men from Membertou between the ages of 23 and 26.

All men were taken into custody until their scheduled court appearances on Monday. They face a variety of charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking. One of the accused had two outstanding warrants for failing to appear at court.
