3 injured in ATV crash near Digby

Three people were seriously injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash near Digby Friday night.

Three people were seriously injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash near Digby Friday night.

RCMP spokesman David Parker said the accident happened on the Shelburne Road Bridge at about 10 p.m.

All three people were riding on the same ATV when the driver lost control, he said.

"There's evidence the guardrail was struck and the vehicle itself flipped over" Parker said. "At last word, they were in hospital and being treated by medical professionals."

It is illegal for more than two people to ride a single ATV, he said.

Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
