3 charged in Dartmouth shooting
Three men face numerous weapons charges in relation to a shooting Wednesday in Dartmouth, N.S.
Tremaine Fraser, 21, Landrel Beals, 19, and Shawntez Neco Downey, 19, all from North Preston, are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court Thursday to each face 14 weapons-related charges.
Downey also faces two charges of breach of firearms prohibition and three counts of breach of recognizance.
Cst. Brian Palmeter said police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Everette Street in Dartmouth at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.
He said officers saw a vehicle being operated in a suspicious manner. Three men exited the vehicle and tried to flee the area but were pursued and taken into custody.
Two other men who were apprehended in the area of Everette Street and MacKenzie Street were later released without charge.
Two firearms were recovered and several spent shell casings were located on Everett Street, police said. No one was injured in the incident, but a house on MacKenzie Street was struck by a bullet.
