3 cars found burning in Sydney
Cape Breton Regional Police arrested two young men after a series of car fires in Sydney early Wednesday.
Police said the three suspicious fires were all in the south-end of the city between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.
In each case, the vehicles were fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters and police arrived.
"Some of the vehicles that were set on fire were close to homes, and if no one did notice, the homes would have definitely caught on fire," said Staff Sgt. Michael Kennedy.
Investigators tracked two suspects with the help of a police dog.
The men, ages 20 and 21, are in custody as the arson investigation continues.
