Police arrested three men in North Preston, N.S., Wednesday after a weekend of gun violence.

Police arrested three men in North Preston, N.S., Wednesday after a weekend of gun violence.

Halifax police and RCMP carried out a search of a home on Alex Lane at 7:20 a.m.  Officers say they found a firearm and ammunition.

Three men were taken into custody and are being interviewed. Police said it was related to "incidents that occurred in the area" between March 9 and 11.

The men were released without charge Wednesday afternoon.

The weekend saw a dog shot dead, an armed assault and a house riddled with bullets in three incidents.
