25 guns seized during Dartmouth searches
Three people are facing charges after Halifax Regional Police seized 25 guns and some drugs during two searches in Dartmouth.
A 23-year-old Dartmouth man was arrested during a traffic stop on Wednesday on Lombardy Lane in connection with a breaking and entering incident in August.
During a subsequent search of a home in the 0 to 100 block of Andover Street, Halifax Regional Police seized a quantity of marijuana, hash, drug paraphernalia, four handguns and one long gun.
The man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Thursday charged with various drug and gun-related charges.
As a result of that search, Halifax Regional Police also searched another residence in the 0 to 100 block of Braeside Court in Dartmouth on Thursday.
A conductive energy device, 11 handguns, nine long guns and ammunition were seized and two 29-year-old women face charges of possession of a prohibited device.
Both women were released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
