Suspects driving mid-sized white sedan in Saturday incident

Halifax Regional Police say someone in a white vehicle opened fire on two 19-year-olds in Dartmouth Saturday night.

The men were both hit on the lower half of their bodies.

"The shots were fired by a passenger, on the passenger side of a small to mid-sized white sedan as it drove slowly past the residence," said Sgt. Jeff Carr. "It looked like it might have been either a Pontiac Sunfire or a Chevy Cobalt. A car of that size. White in colour."

The incident happened on Grant Street, around 9 p.m. Carr says it appears only the driver and the passenger were in the vehicle.

Several bullets also hit the house.

The victims were taken to the QEII Health Sciences Centre and were released later in the night.

"These incidents are seldom random," said Carr. "The two victims here are previously known to police. As with any investigation, we'll have a look at the background of the victims, including known associates in attempting to determine who may be responsible."
