Halifax police are investigating two gun-related incidents in Dartmouth that happened only hours apart.

Police said two armed thieves robbed two teenagers of their cellphones and bags Tuesday night on Dorothea Drive.

The teens told police that the two robbers had handguns.

Officers brought in a police dog to search the area, but no suspects were found.

About three hours later, someone fired a gun from a front porch on Marvin Street. No one was hurt.

Police said they seized a 22-calibre rifle and some marijuana from the home.

A 17-year-old man is due in youth court later Wednesday to face several charges.
