2 attempted armed robberies in Halifax
Halifax Regional Police are searching for two men after a pair of attempted armed robberies early Sunday morning.
Police say a man carrying a knife walked into a McDonald's on Nantucket Avenue in Dartmouth shortly after 12:00 a.m. and demanded cash from staff at the register.
Staff ran to the back of the restaurant and called police.
Police said the culprit wasn't able to open the cash register and he fled empty-handed.
He's described as a slim white male, about five foot four inches in height, wearing a black hoodie and a green scarf covering his face.
A couple hours later, police say a male with a covered face carrying a knife tried to rob the Shoppers Drug Mart on Spring Garden Road in Halifax.
Police say the man tried to demand cash from a clerk at a register, who didn't hand any over.
The man fled without any money after he was scared off by a store security guard.
He's described as a white male, six foot two inches in height, approximately 200 pounds, wearing a black and green hoodie and jeans.
Police say they don't believe the incidents are connected.
