1 dead, 2 in hospital after Highway 104 crash

RCMP have confirmed that one person is dead and two people were taken to hospital after an SUV crashed shutting down the eastbound lanes of Highway 104 between Amherst and Springhill Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 12:45 Tuesday afternoon between exits 4 and 5 on Highway 104.

Police have confirmed that one person has died, and that another person was airlifted to hospital with undetermined injuries. The third person was brought to hospital in Amherst with undetermined injuries.

Eastbound traffic was rerouted onto Highway 2 near Exit 4 for hours.

Police reopened the highway around 6:15 p.m.
