Yellowknife brew pub location to be moved
Owner says he was advised against waterfront location
A microbrewery pub planned for the government dock in Yellowknife's Old Town has changed its location.
Fletcher Stevens, one of the owners of the NWT Brewing company, said he sought advice from other breweries about the waterfront location.
"They were advising us against it. It's a small location with small ceilings. When you walk in, the fermenters touch the ceiling, so it would have limited expansion in the future as we do have hopes we can expand a little bit."
Stevens said the lack of parking was also an issue. He said the new location they are considering has a lot more space.
Stevens is not yet revealing the new location. He said his company has not yet submitted permit applications with the city, but he hopes to be open by the end of the year.
