Ross River Dena Council elects Jack Caesar as chief

Jack Caesar has been elected chief of Ross River Dena Council after elections on Friday.

Voter turnout was 67 per cent, according to the electoral officer

Jack Caesar has been elected chief of Ross River Dena Council after elections on Friday.

Caesar received 130 more votes than the closest of other three candidates who ran for chief.

It appears the  incumbent chief, Brian Ladue, did not seek re-election, as his name is not on the ballot results released by the electoral officer.

Four people were elected to council: Jenny Caesar, Nicole Etzel, Verna Nukon and Derrick Redies. 

Georgina Leslie, electoral officer, says voter turnout was 67 per cent with 282 out of 418 Ross River Dena council member voting.
