Rankin Inlet's own Jordin Tootoo will be back on the ice with the New Jersey Devils next season, having signed a new contract with the team on Saturday.

The 32-year-old scratched his way onto the team's roster last season after attending training camp as a pro tryout.

This season, Tootoo led the team with penalty minutes, but also had his best goal-scoring year since 2007-08 with 10 goals and 15 points.

The forward has 59 goals and 90 assists for 149 points and 880 penalty minutes in 607 NHL games.
