Police in Iqaluit are investigating a fire that broke out early Tuesday morning in a social housing unit.
Officials with the fire department said they got a call at about 4 a.m. ET on Jan. 2. Firefighters went to building 2218.
The fire was contained to one unit, and was extinguished by about 4:30 a.m.
One woman and two children were rushed to the Qikiqtani General Hospital. As of Tuesday afternoon, the two children had been released. The woman was being monitored and is in stable condition.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and police are investigating.
