The site is 50 kilometres southeast of Yellowknife.

Over five years the ice road trucker wants to drill up to 10 holes for exploration.

The review board says the exploration won't have any negative impact on the environment.

The proposal is now in the hands of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Minister John Duncan.

From there a land-use permit has to be approved for drilling to go ahead.
