The St. John’s IceCaps are teaming up with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation-Atlantic Region, to bring awareness to the disease and show support for those it has impacted.

Fans are being asked to wear pink on Saturday night, when the IceCaps host the Hershey Bears at Mile One Centre in St. John's.

As part of the event, IceCaps players will wear pink stickers on their helmets, and breast cancer survivors are scheduled to take part in a ceremonial face-off and the singing of the national anthems.

IceCaps Care and the Williams Family Foundation will also present a cheque to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Danny Williams is president and CEO of the IceCaps.

“Most of us have been touched in some way by breast cancer and the St. John’s IceCaps are proud to join in the fight against this dreaded disease,” said Williams.

"We hope our efforts during this game bring awareness to this important cause and help those who work tirelessly to find a cure."
