The RCMP in Hopedale, Labrador are urging snowmobilers to check their equipment before heading out in the woods, after search and rescue were called to locate another missing man.

Police received a call at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, after a man from Hopedale failed to show up in Postville as expected.

The 52-year-old left Hopedale at 6:00 a.m. to make the nearly two hour trip to Postville alone on snowmobile.

A ground search and rescue team from Hopedale located the man walking back to Hopedale around 3:30 p.m. He was not hurt.

It was the second time in two days the team was called out to find missing snowmobilers, only to locate them and their broken-down machines in the woods.

This most recent rescue came just one day after the RCMP urged snowmobilers to "make sure all equipment is in good working order" before heading out.

The police are once again issuing the reminder.
