Service station held up in early morning robbery
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary searched the centre of St. John's Tuesday morning for the culprit responsible for an armed robbery.
Police said a service station on Freshwater Road, which also contained a convenience store, was held up around 2:30 a.m.
The RNC released few details about the robbery, including the type of weapon that was used.
The clerk who was on duty inside the store was not injured, police said.
The RNC called in forensics staff and a dog unit, but was not immediately able to find the thief.
