The RCMP is looking into complaints of a possible hazing incident at the high school in Clarenville.

According to a statement issued Thursday, the complaint came from Clarenville High School and involves one of its sports teams.

They provided no detail on which sport was involved, or when the alleged incident took place.

Police said they were working with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District and representatives from the school to investigate the issue, and would provide no further information.

Another high school, in Stephenville on the province's west coast, cut off athletic activities this fall, after a hazing incident there — prompting complaints that all students were being punished for the actions of a few.
