Police continue to investigate the cause of a fire that broke out Wednesday morning at a hotel in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

Guests were evacuated from Hotel North on Loring Drive when a fire was discovered in the Mariner's Galley wing.

A staff member made the call to the fire department when she saw smoke billowing out of the kitchen.

As well as the kitchen and the restaurant, there are efficiency units housed in the same building.

Firefighters quickly got the fire under control.

People have been allowed back into the other building, which houses regular hotel guests.

There are no reports of any injuries.
