Pride Week celebrations kicked off on Monday in St. John's, with several events planned in the lead-up to the annual Pride parade in downtown St. John's on Sunday.

Things officially started on Monday with three separate flag-raising ceremonies.

They took place at the Confederation Building, St. John's City Hall and Memorial University.

Throughout this week, dozens of other events will take place including mixers, bonfires, barbecues, dances, film screenings and more. A full schedule of Pride events can be found on the St. John's Pride website.

CBC Newfoundland and Labrador will have a live video stream of the downtown parade on Sunday, starting at 2 p.m.
