The first televised debate in the PC leadership race allowed contenders Paul Davis, Steve Kent and John Ottenheimer to present their vision for Newfoundland and Labrador.

On Point host David Cochrane moderated the debate, which covered topics as diverse as health care, the justice system and the troubles that the governing Tories have been having lately in public opinion polls.

An edited version of the debate will air Saturday on On Point, at 7:30 p.m. NT. 

Progressive Conservatives will gather in St. John's to choose a new leader — and, in effect, the province's next premier. CBC will carry live coverage on TV, radio and online on Saturday, Sept. 13.
