Worker dead after being swept away by rushing water at Quebec-Labrador mine site
Man in his 30s found dead in Fermont, another worker injured

One mine employee is dead and another injured after a dramatic workplace incident in Fermont, Que.
The two were working in a tunnel at the ArcelorMittal site, near the Quebec-Labrador border, when water rushed in and they were swept away by a large wave, according to a statement from Quebec's workplace health and safety board, known by its French acronym, CNESST.
The man, who was found underwater, was later pronounced dead at the hospital in Fermont.
The extent of the second worker's injuries are not yet known.
Work at the site has been suspended, and it's not known when employees will return to work.
"We won't restart operations before we're absolutely certain we understand what happened. It could take a few hours, or a few days," ArcelorMittal spokesperson Nicolas Dalmau said Monday.
Sûreté du Québec said officers responded to a call Sunday at 9:30 p.m.
Earlier Monday, police said the man who died was in his 30s.
CNESST is leading the investigation, with help from police.
