Thrilling video shows medevac rescue southwest of St. John's

Search and rescue operators say a 50-year-old man was rescued from a fishing vessel on Sunday, about 260 nautical miles southwest of St. John's, and it was all captured on video.

The Halifax-based Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) has posted a dramatic video of a medevac rescue off the southeast coast of Newfoundland online. 

Search and rescue operators said a 50-year-old man was airlifted from a fishing vessel on Sunday, about 260 nautical miles southwest of St. John's.

The 103 Search and Rescue Squadron from Gander, and the 413 squadron from Greenwood, N.S., responded to the scene.

The man was taken to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's for treatment.

The JRCC said no further details are available about the man's condition.
