Marine Atlantic getting $22M for upgrades in Port aux Basques, North Sydney

Marine Atlantic is getting $22 million from the federal government in infrastructure upgrades that will make a difference to its Port aux Basques and North Sydney terminals, according to Transport Minister Marc Garneau.
Garneau announced details of the money — first allocated in the government's March budget — on Wednesday morning in Port aux Basques.
"Investing in Marine Atlantic is the right thing to do," said Garneau.
The money is being split between three projects. One is to upgrade ferry mooring systems with new technology to increase safety, while another is to upgrade dock fenders in order to minimize wear and tear on vessels and docks during the docking process.
The third project involves upgrading the sewer system in the Port aux Basques terminal yard.
