Suspended driver owing more than $33K in fines to appear in St. John's court

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested a 30-year-old man Sunday morning for numerous court breaches.

A 30-year-old man is set to appear in a St. John's court Sunday morning, on a number of traffic violations.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary pulled over the man on Ferryland Street at 3:20 a.m. Sunday, after officers noticed he was driving a vehicle that wasn't registered.

RNC officers arrested the driver for numerous breaches of court orders, including to not operate a motor vehicle.

Other checks showed he was suspended and owed in excess of $33,000 in outstanding fines.

Police impounded the vehicle.
