Man driving with no licence, insurance and $10K in fines runs from police
A man owing in excess of $10,000 in outstanding fines ran from police in St. John's on Saturday night.
Around 10 p.m., the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary conducted a traffic safety stop on Blackmarsh Road.
As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver fled on foot. The RNC officer chased the man, and arrested him as he entered a house.
Police said the man was charged for driving without a valid driver's licence and insurance, operating with no registration and failure to transfer ownership.
He was released to appear in provincial court, and his vehicle was impounded.
