Jury selected for Steven Blackmore case
The jury was selected at Supreme Court in St. John's on Tuesday for an RCMP officer facing 10 charges.
Cpl. Steven Blackmore, 41, is accused of sexually assaulting the same woman twice, as well as assaulting her six times — once with a knife.
Blackmore is also charged with assaulting a different woman and with careless use of a firearm.
The charges date from 2005 until 2012.
Blackmore's trial is expected to begin on Wednesday, with an opening statement from the Crown.
He was suspended, with pay, in 2012 while the case moved through the courts.
