Jiffy Cab car goes up in flames in St. John's, RNC says fire 'accidental'

One St. John's taxi won't be heading anywhere in a jiffy, after fire engulfed the 4-door sedan on Tuesday morning.

One St. John's taxi won't be heading anywhere in a jiffy, after fire engulfed the 4-door sedan on Tuesday morning. 

The Jiffy Cab was ablaze in a parking lot off of Veteran's Road in Pleasantville in St. John's. 

According to the company, the vehicle was in front of the driver's residence when the fire happened. 

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the fire started shortly after the driver turned on the vehicle.

Police said the blaze was accidental.
