Jason Momoa fans got a first look at the upcoming Canadian series Frontier Wednesday, after Entertainment Weekly posted two photographs to its website.

The Game of Thrones actor, who will play Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice this year, has been in Newfoundland for several months, working on two separate projects.

Created by Rob Blackie and Peter Blackie, Frontier will follow the struggle to "control wealth and power in the North American fur trade in the late 18th century," according to a news release from Bell in April.

The series will debut this year in Canada on Bell Media platforms including Discovery, Discovery GO, and CraveTV, and on Netflix in international markets.

Momoa stars alongside Landon Liboiron, of Hemlock Grove fame, and Christian McKay.

Along with Frontier, Momoa also shot the movie Braven in Newfoundland, alongside The Mindy Project actor Garret Dillahunt.

According to IMDb, Braven is about a logger who protects his family from drug runners.

On Sunday, Momoa posted a photo on his Instagram account from the St. John's IceCaps game at Mile Once Centre, wearing a home jersey with his last name emblazoned on the back.

"Mahalo Danny. For the jerseys and aloha. Love me some ice hockey. I'm ice caps all the way. Support your local," Momoa wrote.

"Mahalo to Newfoundland. You always take care of me. I love it here."

The person standing next to Momoa, who the actor tagged as @caldercrisis, wore a jersey with "Braven" stitched on the back.
