Flat Bay home hit by gunfire in apparent targeted attack, say police

A home in Flat Bay was shot at several times, damaging the inside and outside of the residence, police say.

A home in Flat Bay was hit by gunfire this past weekend, causing damage to the dwelling's exterior and interior, police say.

Bay St. George RCMP said a resident of Flat Bay reported the shooting on Monday. 

No one was home at the time of the shooting, and police are assuring the public there is no cause for concern for public safety.

A news release Tuesday said it does not appear the shooting was a random act.

Resident are asked to be alert and to contact police if they see any suspicious activities.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing with the assistance of the Corner Brook RCMP Major Crime Unit.
