Flat Bay cabin destroyed in latest suspicious fire to hit area

RCMP are investigating after a cabin in Flat Bay burned to the ground Sunday morning.

A cabin in Flat Bay burned to the ground Sunday morning, in what police are calling the third suspicious fire in the community since October.

Bay St. George RCMP said by the time officers arrived on scene, the cabin was completely destroyed.

No one was hurt in the blaze, although police said the owner was upset because the cabin had only been completed last week.

Police say the cabin had just been completed. (RCMP)

Police have also termed the fires that destroyed a home on Oct. 26, and the community centre on Nov.16 as suspicious.

Flat Bay does not have a fire department nor a fire service agreement with a neighbouring municipality, so no firefighters responded to the cabin fire.
