Police are investigating how a fire started at a vacant house in the Mundy Pond area in St. John's, in a scenario similar to another incident three months ago.

A fire on Mundy Pond Road was reported shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the house, which is near St. Theresa's School, was extensively damaged.

In June, police suspected arson in a fire at a vacant house on nearby Blackler Avenue.
