Fire believed to have started in patient's room
A fire at the Waterford Hospital Tuesday evening appears to have started in a patient's room, says Eastern Health.
There are no reported injuries.
"All patients are safe and are being transferred to other units at the facility," according to the health authority.
The fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. with police and fire crews arriving on scene shortly thereafter.
"The extent of the damage is to be determined, and the cause of the fire, which appears to have started in a patient room, will be investigated," Eastern Health stated in a media release.
"When the cause of the fire has been determined, Eastern Health will review and assess."
