A junior high student from Mount Pearl, on Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula, faces possible discipline for promoting bullying through a website.

Education officials say a female student from Mount Pearl Junior High started a Facebook page called Hit a Prep.

The page had hundreds of members from dozens of schools in the province. It encouraged students to target people who wear certain brands of clothing and hit them on a specific date.

A spokesperson for the Eastern School District, which is responsible for schools on the province's east coast, said the school will be talking to the girl about her actions.

The page has since been taken down.
