Dump garbage contractor, C.B.S. councillors told
The council governing the largest town in Newfoundland and Labrador will meet with its new garbage collection contractor next week to try to deal with hundreds of complaints about service.

More than 800 complaints have been lodged with the Conception Bay South town office since it hired Newfound Disposal Systems Ltd. six months ago to handle garbage collection.
"We thought we'd have some growing pains, but the growing pains have continued now into the summer months, [and] it started in January," said Coun. Scott Andrews.
Coun. Ken George said he'lltell company officialsat next week's meeting that they will need to do a better job or risk losing the five-year contract.
The residents aren't "receiving the service they're used to and the taxpayers aren't receiving the service they deserve," George said.
No one from the company was available for an interview Tuesday.

Among other things, residents say, Newfound crews do not pick up larger bags of garbage, including bags of leaves and grass.
"The garbage is still in my bin. It's been there for two weeks," said Kim Thompson, who lives near the Conception Bay Highway. "They said the truck was broke down and they would come and get it, but they never did."
But not all residents of Conception Bay South are concerned about with the service.
"We don't have any problem," Bruce Metcalfe said. "We put it out and they take it — you can't beat that."
