Driver killed in crash involving ambulance
A Deer Lake man was killed Tuesday night following a two-vehicle highway collision near Pynn's Brook, in western Newfoundland.
The crash involving a car and ambulance happened on the Trans-Canada Highway just after 6:30 p.m.
The 35-year-old victim was the only person in the car.
Two paramedics and the patient they were transporting in the ambulance were taken to hospital for observation.
Still pictures could be seen Tuesday night on the provincial government's highway camera just east of Pasadena of vehicles pulled over, trying to avoid the accident scene.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
