Labrador police have arrested a man after discovering marijuana at the Hopedale airport on Wednesday.

Some 544 grams of marijuana were wrapped in garbage bags then inside diapers and finally stuffed into a microwave, RCMP said.

The man, 42, is facing charges of possession and trafficking of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

A court date has not yet been established.

Police are calling the bust significant considering the high street value of the drug in the remote community of about 700 people.
