#DarkNL meets the dark side in Star Wars trailer spoof

From the same guys who brought you the Mummers Rap this Christmas comes a #DarkNL spoof on the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Last January, widespread power outages across the province were nicknamed the now-infamous #DarkNL.

For this year, a St. John’s group wanted to find a way to tie in the outages with something else people were talking about online — and what better viral video than a trailer for the new Star Wars movie?

Justin Hawco, who wrote the skit, said the two elements actually blended well together, referring to the idea of "the dark side" versus the light.

Hawco added that #DarkNL was "on everyone’s minds now that winter hit."
