Cabbie, passenger busted for cocaine

A St. John's taxi driver and his passenger are facing drug charges after police pulled over a cab in downtown St. John's.

A St. John's taxi driver and his passenger are facing drug charges after police pulled over a cab in downtown St. John's.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said more than 100 grams of cocaine were seized from a vehicle on Long's Hill on Thursday.

Police also seized more than $1,200 in cash.

The RNC said the cabbie was on duty at the time. He was arrested for trafficking while the passenger was arrested for possession.
